Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix was a Los Angeles native born on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was aware that she had a talent for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her initial attempt, she finished 2nd in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003, and later enrolled in University of Southern California to study elementary education. The first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest to win the 200 meters in the world championships in Helsinki in 2005. She defended her title time and time again in 2007 defeating the long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
