Marcia Harvey
Marcia Harvey is an African American
author. She is best known as the ex-wife to comedian Steve Harvey. She chose to
keep her personal life secretive and out of the spotlight. While Steve did not
have anywhere in the same level of success he enjoys now the couple was married
for fourteen years. The reasons behind the couple splitting up weren't known,
and rumors have always been heard in Hollywood. Many believe that it was due to
Steve Harvey's cheating ways however others attribute it on his decision to
pursue comedy as a profession. The tragic story of her life can be traced to
the circumstance that Steve quit her and his two daughters, while she was
expecting their third baby. Despite the hardships she has faced she's managed
to build a successful career in fashion design and writing. Her books include
'Marcia Eyes To The Soul', "Marcia: Poems From The Heart', and 'Marcia:
Thoughts from My Mind'. Her children are influenced by her generosity and
kindness. Marcia Harvey was born to an African-American family. They didn't
have the richest of families. She began working for the department store 'Saks
Fifth Avenue'. Steve came across her at a party for a mutual friend a few years
later. The two fell in love and were married in 1980. The couple had twin girls
in 1982. Steve was an insurance salesman. Steve began to feel disillusioned at
work and decided to pursue a career in the field of entertainment. He wanted to
become an actor. This caused a lot of friction between him and Marcia and
later, reports indicated that they were starting to split up in the year 1990.
The majority of the fame of Marcia Harvey was due to her marriage and divorce
from Steve Harvey. Although the facts leading to their divorce in 1994 are
largely kept a secret however, it is clear that Marcia was expecting their
third child when everything went downhill. Marcia filed for divorce in 1993.
Marcia was compelled by Steve Harvey's decision not to pay an alimony payment
or child support following her divorce.
