Emma Stone
Emily Jean Stone, also called Emma was
born in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 6, 1988 to Krista Jean Stone (nee
Yeager), who is a homemaker, as well as Jeffrey Charles Stone (CEO of a
contracting firm founder and CEO). Stone is of Swedish, German & British
Isles descent. Stone began her acting career as a child as a part of the Valley
Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where she made her stage debut in a
production of Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows". She
appeared in many more productions in her early teens until, around the age of
15 she made the decision to pursue a career in acting. As per the official
report she performed a PowerPoint slide show that was supported by Madonna's
Hollywood and dubbed "Project Hollywood" in an effort to persuade her
parents and let her to quit school and move to Los Angeles. After the
presentation was accepted she and her mother moved to LA. She continued her
education at home and was able to audition. Her TV breakthrough when she won
the role of Laurie Partridge in the VH1 talent/reality show In Search of the
Partridge Family (2004) that led to several smaller TV roles over the next
years. After a string of successes, her role as Olive in Easy A (2010) was her
first film role. She was a student at Xavier College Preparatory, Phoenix,
Arizona. Although she is known for being a redhead, her real hair color is
blonde. Judd Apatow was the one who suggested that she change her natural hair
shade to Superbad (2007). The movie was so well received that she chose to stay
with. When she was 15years old, she persuaded her parents to allow her to go to
Hollywood by creating an PowerPoint presentation appropriately titled Project
Hollywood. She started acting when she was 11 years old, at Phoenix's Valley
Youth Theatre. Here she performed on 16 stages, and performed with the comedy
improv troupe of the theatre. Caylee Cowan was also an actor at Valley Youth
Theatre.
